THE first areas to benefit from a £1million pothole repair plan have been revealed by Hampshire County Council.
For the rest of this month and November, teams will be working on roads in Silchester, Whitchurch and Kingsclere as part of the initiative for the county.
Highways bosses have announced they will also be tackling problems in Jamaica Farm Lane, St Mary Bourne; Lloyds Lane, Ramsdell; Frog Lane, Little London; Snakey Lane, Baughurst; and Adbury Lane in Bishops Green.
Councillor Mel Kendal, Hampshire County Council’s executive member for environment, said: “When choosing which potholes to repair, we look at factors such as safety, the volume of traffic and the type of road – whether main or rural. We also look at the pothole, how bad it is, and whether the repair can be done as part of our annual maintenance. It is not possible to fix every pothole in Hampshire.”
