A FORMER borough mayor is celebrating after a convincing victory at the Tadley by-election.
Councillor Warwick Lovegrove, who was Mayor of Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council for 2007-08, has been voted onto Tadley Town Council with 269 votes.
Cllr Lovegrove, of Wigmore Road, Tadley, trounced his fellow nominee Michael Frost, who garnered 191 votes.
Cllr Lovegrove will represent the Tadley Central ward.
The by-election was held yesterday, following the resignation of Councillor Sue Cordery earlier this year
