Breast friends walk together

BASINGSTOKE ladies in bras will be joining thousands of others on the streets of London to raise money for a cancer charity.
At midnight on Saturday, women in their bras will set off to walk a marathon or half marathon in Walk the Walk's annual Playtex MoonWalk, raising money and awareness for vital breast cancer causes.
Carlie Cohen, from Lychpit, has been training with Emma Clitheroe, 33, from Winklebury, and Emma's mum Christine Sawyer, 56, from Eastrop, and the trio are hopping on a train at the weekend to walk 13 miles in specially-decorated bras.
Carlie, 33, said: "We think it's a very worthy cause. We've all known friends and family who have been affected by breast cancer.
"My grandmother had breast cancer 15 or 20 years ago and survived, but it affects so many people."
The friends have taken part in Race for Life fundraisers but this is their first MoonWalk. Their pal June Loveridge decorated the bras they will be wearing for the walk with frills and sequins.
Mother-of-two Carlie said: "She's done a great job. These things are such a pleasant experience and the training has been lovely.
"We've all found that we really enjoy power walking."
The trio hope to complete the course, which starts and finishes in Hyde Park, in four or five hours.

Famous names taking part in Saturday's event include children's presenter Rani Price and Patricia Hewitt, MP.
