Three Andover and District Snooker League finals were held recently at the Wykeham Club.
The Oliver Porter singles final was contested between Andy Bannan of Enham B and Lee Seffron of Wolversdene A. Andy played well during the match and won a one-sided match 3-0.
The Tony Brooks Pair's final was won 3-1 by Pat Hynes and Dave Karas of Enham A who proved to be too strong on the night for Martin Hill and Neil Carroll of the Stonehenge Snooker Centre. The last final of the night was the Bill Cotterill Scratch singles final between Andy Bannan and John Hunter both of Enham B - a repeat of last year's final. Unlike last year John took his chances at the end of each of the frames to complete a 3-0 win and gain his revenge.
One final was played after the finals night, this was the Tony Brooks Pairs final and was an all- Wolversdene event with Tim Stockwell and Steve Tarrant representing the A team and Kevin and David Brooking the B team.
Kevin and David won the first frame, however this turned out to be their only success as Tim and Steve bounced back to win the next three frames and take the award.
The League winners were Ken Brown's Enham B who finished seven points clear of runners-up Wolversdene B who had an excellent second half of the season and third placed Enham A. The Enham B team were Ken Brown, Andy Bannan, John Hunter, John Francis, Chris Beck and Matt Dowling.
The high break award was shared by John Hunter and Andy Bannan with breaks of 84 - John's break coming in early season against Carl Walsh and Andy replied in the last two weeks of the season in his singles match against Barry Coleman.
Enham B also won the Knockout Scratch Cup with a 2-1 over Enham A team.
The Handicap Knockout Cup was also won by Enham B to complete the triple as they defeated Bob Grist's Wolversdene B team of David and Kevin Brooking and James Griggs 4-2 in the two-legged final.
The final award of the evening was the Pat Farrelly Most Consistent Player award presented to the player who wins the most league matches as a percentage in the season. Only players who play 50 per cent of league matches are eligible for this award.
Andy Bannan won the award with 24 winning frames and only six lost frames, just beating team mate John Hunter and Enham A Dave Karas and Stuart Abrams into second and third place respectfully.
