A CARE agency based in Basingstoke has received a clean bill of health from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) on its first inspection.

Caremark Basingstoke and Deane, based out of the Basepoint Enterprise Centre in Stroudley Road, was inspected over the course of three days, June 25, 27 and July 2 this year.

The report was published on August 2, and rated the care agency as ‘good’ in all five areas which the CQC judges, including safety, responsiveness and effectiveness.

Caremark Basingstoke and Deane is a domiciliary care agency, providing personal care for people in their own homes.

The service is provided to adults, people living with dementia, autism spectrum disorder, physical disability, mental health needs and sensory impairment.

The service was praised by the healthcare watchdog in several different areas.

The report read: “People and relatives told us that staff responded effectively to any concerns they had with positive action. People, relatives and health and social care professionals consistently made positive comments about the effectiveness of the service.”

The owner of Caremark Basingstoke and Deane, Kerry Dyson, said: “I was so pleased with the result of the inspection and the comments made in the report.

“It’s what I wanted to create when I got into the care sector. After my own father was ill and my brother and I needed to look into home care for him I became aware of the varying quality of providers and I decided to get into the sector myself.

“I promised myself that I would create a service and build a team that we were all proud of and which prided itself on genuinely providing quality help and support in all its forms, for people who need it.

“This report from the CQC shows that we’ve built the right foundations and we hope to grow to help as many people as we can.

“The real praise though has to go to Kirsty [the registered manager], the clients and carers all appreciate the hard work she puts in, she’s a rock and she deserves every word of praise she got in that report, from the clients and their families as well as the carers.

“I couldn’t be prouder and I’m looking forward to building on this great start to getting some ‘outstanding’ ratings in the next inspection.”
