A NINE-YEAR-OLD girl has gone for a radical new look after donating 11 inches of her hair to charity.

Aimee Regan braved the scissors on Sunday, chopping off her locks in aid of the Little Princess Trust, which makes wigs using real human hair for children suffering with cancer.

The Overton Primary School pupil had been growing her hair for around six months before she was inspired to give it away after hearing about the cause through a friend of hers.

In one week Aimee raised £443.

Mum Natalie said: “It was amazing I’m so proud of her.

“She was really inspired as we have got relatives who passed away from cancer and people we know who have got through therapy so it is something she knows and hears about. She was quite inspired to do that because of the cause.

“She was so excited about having it done, she was like let’s go for it. I was the one more emotional about it.”

Aimee now dons a short bob thanks to hairdresser Georgina Brown who styled it free of charge.

On Aimee’s fundraising page, she said: “I was inspired by a friend who donated her hair to The Little Princess Trust not so long ago, and I wanted to help people with cancer.

Also I wanted those people to know we care for them by making them wigs out of actual human hair.

“I am Aimee Regan, I am 9 and I want to help.”
