A SIX-month project to install a major new water pipe has been completed.
South East Water has finished the project to lay 1.4 kilometres of new water main along Griffin Way South in Hook to increase the amount of freshly treated water flowing into the area.
The scheme began on 8 January and was finished at the end of last week with final reinstatements to the road surface and the removal of temporary traffic lights which had been in situ for the duration.
Matthew Cooper, project manager at South East Water, said: “I would like to thank the residents, businesses and road users of Hook for their patience and understanding throughout this project which will improve the capacity of the local water network for the benefit of the community as it grows in future.”
