ROADWORKS: People have asked whether the roadworks on the Brighton Hill roundabout are the start of the A30 improvements. No, they are not. They are works on the gas supply. The county council expects to publish an upgrade scheme for the roundabout in the next couple of weeks, for consultation.
BEER festival: we are a month away from Hatch Warren's popular beer festival, held as usual at the Community Centre. The date for your diaries is Saturday, 8 September and as always there will be a greats election of beers, wine and ciders and there will be hot food available and live music entertainment.
ANAEROBIC Digester: For people who have been troubled by odours from the digester, it may be that the operators have found the cause. It's to do with the storage of liquid material in a tank: when the tank fills, the (smelly) air above it is forced out. They are looking to phase out this part of the operation to see if it produces an improvement.
