TEAS continue each week on Saturday and Sunday in the Parish Church and on Sundays only at the Methodist Church. The weather as we all know is very hot and so the number of walkers has decreased.

BLESSING of Pets: a very happy service with many pets being blessed and then offered water and biscuits. Their human owners were content in the marquee and agreed that the service went very well.

LEAGUE cricket: over 400 runs were scores last Saturday when Silchester were hosts to Basingstoke & North Hants IV. The visitors scored an impressive 245 for 8 in their innings and won by 81 runs by bowling out Silchester for 164. Main contributors for the home side were Eliot Dedman 45 and Shaun Bradley 30. There were several “water breaks” during the afternoon.

CHARITY cricket match will be held on Sunday, 19 August from 2.30pm when the Calleva Arms team play The Plough team from Little London.

VILLAGE Hall: work has now started on the roof of the hall during the time in August when most users have a break.
