LOTS of fun was had at this year’s Hook Village Show and Craft Fayre.
Over 2,000 people saw North East Hampshire MP Ranil Jayawardena open the show on Sunday, accompanied by the Cove Brass Band.
Sweep’s Sheepdog Show was a big hit while Mighty Smith, the world’s fifth strongest man, pitted his strength against willing volunteers, as people tried to pull his hands apart in a double tug-of-war as the Karen Blackburn Dance Academy also put on a show.
Visitors of all ages enjoyed a vintage car display and numerous stalls selling an array of items
The Craft Fayre, held in the Community Centre, was packed with stalls selling unusual or unique, handmade items and accessories.
There was also a dog show, with prizes for many different events including waggiest tail, best six legs of dog and owner and cutest puppy.
The event was organised by Hook and Odiham Lions with support from Hook Parish Council, Hook and Odiham Rotary Club, volunteers and businesses.
Jane Worlock, chairman of Hook Parish Council, said: “It was fantastic to see so many residents and local groups enjoying themselves, blessed by glorious weather. Surrounded by such a happy, vibrant atmosphere - what better way to spend a summer Sunday afternoon.”
