MORE than 100 pupils, teachers and parents completed an event to raise money for the fight against cancer.
Ecchinswell and Sydmonton CE Primary School hosted a Race for Life event on Thursday, 28 June managing to raise more than £700 for Cancer Research UK.
All participants wore the trademark pink for the race and a personally decorated Race for Life number.
Those taking part completed the mile course in temperatures nearing 30C.
The race was supported by Tesco, with a representative from the Newbury branch of the supermarket chain organising the warm up, starting the race and supplying the children with a much-needed bottle of water at the finish.
There were plenty of smiles from the children, parents and supporters at the finish line of the event.
