A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was left with serious head injuries.
An investigation was launched after a man was assaulted during the course of the England World Cup semi-final match against Croatia on Wednesday, 11 July.
Police were called to Thornhill Way in Chineham at 7.44pm to reports that a man had been assaulted.
A 25-year-old man was taken to Southampton General Hospital with a serious head injury.
Enquiries into the exact circumstances of the attack are still ongoing.
A 28-year-old man from Buckinghamshire has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He has been bailed until August 16.
