POLICE have launched a bid to find a man who twice approached a teenager girl in the street, once offering to give her a lift.

At around 4.15pm on Saturday, a 13-year-old girl was walking in Chapel Hill when she was approached by the man who brushed against her before walking off.

He returned shortly afterwards in his car, when the girl was standing near the mini-roundabout that leads in to Kingsclere Road.

The man offered her a lift.

The girl then asked an unknown female driver of another car to take her to a friend’s house.

The man was described as black, aged between 20 and 25-years-old, of muscular build, having short dreadlocks, wearing red Superstar trainers and driving a navy blue sports car.

The girl was not hurt in the incident, and no similar incidents have been reported.

Police staff investigator Michael Longmore said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who saw what happened.

“We know the nearby Rising Sun pub was busy at this time – were you there and do remember seeing a man or car as described in Chapel Hill?

“We would also like to speak to the woman who gave this girl a lift. If this was you, please call us.”

If anyone has any information, they should call the police on 101, quoting the reference 44180265457.
