HARTLEY Wintney suffered at the hands of promotion chasing Sarisbury Athletic, as they lost by 152 runs.

The home side won the toss and elected to bat and openers Ricky Rawkins (56) and David Clouting (33) got them off to a good start as they shared an opening stand of 89.

A smart caught and bowled from Danny Plume (3-45) broke the partnership and then Jamie Teale (3-41) got amongst the top order as they slumped to 118-4.

It was left to Andrew Ireland (72) and Chris Sanders (55 not out) to get them back on track as they shared an eighth wicket stand worth 110 runs, as the home side finished on 308-9.

In the Hartley reply, Jonny Rowland top scored with 55, while only Plume (29) Ben Earney (17) and Teale (10) made it into double figures, as they were all out for 156.

For the home side Philip Jewell shone taking 4-27 and Thomas Nightingale was on song with 3-23.
