EIGHT teams competed in the blistering heat in an annual charity six-a-side tournament.

The Hope4Harrison tournament has become one of the showcase pieces in the year for the charity set up by the Baughurst family, the Loosens.

Despite some hungover players who had been out celebrating England’s victory over Sweden, the contest went ahead at Didcot Town Football Club on Sunday.

Phil and Julie Loosen set up the charity in 2016 when their son Harrison was diagnosed with Becker muscular dystrophy, which causes slow progressive muscle weakness of the legs and pelvis.

Since setting up the charity the family, along with family and friends and other donations has managed to raise more than £40,000 to help find a cure for muscular dystrophy.

The tournament raised £5,400.
