ARK Cancer Centre Charity has received a show of support from employees at the headquarters of a world-famous company.
Following a staff vote, the team at De La Rue head office in Basingstoke has chosen Ark as their Charity of the Year for 2018-19.
Established over 200 years ago, De La Rue works with governments, central banks and commercial organisations around the globe with producing banknotes, passports and more.
Merv Rees said: “Thank you to the team at De La Rue head office for this vote of support. Their backing is much-appreciated, and Ark is delighted to have the support of staff at one of Basingstoke’s best-known companies.”
Ark is raising £5million towards a new cancer treatment centre. Largely being funded by Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, the centre will ensure a range of therapies and supportive services are available alongside radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatments.
The new cancer treatment centre is set to be built on the existing Basingstoke hospital site.
