EVERYONE tries their best to keep in shape, but sometimes we don’t know how healthy we really are.

Bupa Health Clinics is teaming up with Waitrose in Basing View to give shoppers free health checks.

Using the latest technology, customers will be able to self-test their health using a Bupa Health Station. The free tests will measure blood pressure, BMI, height, weight, heart rate and body fat percentage.

The offer of health checks is available now and will run until Friday, 27 July.

As well as the personalised report, users will also receive a 20 per cent discount on a health assessment at nearby Bupa Health Clinic once they’ve completed the test. Bupa has more than 50 health clinics across the UK, including nearby sites in Farnham and Reading.

Sarah Melia, director for Bupa Health Clinics said: “Keeping track of your health needn’t be difficult, and it’s something that can easily be tied into your daily routine. That’s why we’re encouraging shoppers in Basingstoke to self-test their health while they pop to the shops, using a Bupa Health Station free of charge.

“Users will receive a personalised report, 20 per cent discount on a future health assessment and supporting information once they’ve completed the test.”

In addition to the self-serve health checks, Bupa’s expert health advisors will be visiting the Waitrose store on Thursday, 2 August and Friday, 3 August, between 10am and 6pm, where they’ll be able to support visitors using the machines, and will also provide information, recipes and tips to help towards a healthier lifestyle.

Moira Howie, nutrition and health manager for Waitrose, added: “Many shoppers have the best intentions to be healthier but busy lives get in the way. We know that helpful advice can get people started and have a positive effect on their long-term health.

“This range of services from Bupa Health Clinics complement a number of health initiatives we launched earlier in the year to help customers live healthier lives.”
