STUDENTS from a Hook school took a challenge to raise funds to help the homeless.
On Saturday, 9 June, a group of pupils from the first and second form at Lord Wandsworth College (LWC) slept in a ‘cardboard city’ in the school grounds to generate awareness of homelessness.
It was also to raise funds for the Aldershot charity, Step by Step. So far, the group has managed to double the amount they raised last year, collecting a total of £1,156.
Pupils made snacks and had a burger, but slept on the cold, damp field for the whole night.
Headmaster Adam Williams said: “We are really proud of all those who took part to support this great cause. LWC pupils wanted to complete this challenge for the second year running and raise much needed funds for Step by Step who help around 2000 young people every year.”
