BIG ones, small ones, flat ones, pointy ones. Boobs come in all shapes and sizes, no two are ever the same.

At a packed-out Tea Bar, the audience heard the trials and tribulations of what it means to have breasts.

Juglife, created by Basingstoke mums Lindsey Lawman and Stacy Hart, saw performers passionately and sensitively tell 19 very different stories about breasts.

From puberty to accidently appearing on the front page of the Daily Star after an 18-30s holiday, the stories we heard were both funny and heart-wrenching at the same time.

Now, I will fully admit that being a 29-year-old male with facial hair, I didn’t think I would be the demographic this show was aimed at. But listening to these incredible stories, I found myself laughing and feeling sombre along with all the women that surrounded me.

MC for the night Lawman kept the night flowing, easily guiding the audience from tale to tale, with performers Hart, Corinne Strickett, Esi Hardy, Janet Harrison and Sarah Liisa Wilkinson all really captured the sense of the monologues that they were telling.

There was a break for Booby Bingo – who knew there were so many different names for breasts – where I actually won the first line, and among a crowd of women sheepishly collected my knitted boob.

After the short interval, Lawman proceeded to give bras the middle finger, which was followed by tales of buying your first bra, finding the right bra and being free by not wearing one.

As the performance drew to its conclusion, a prosthetic boob was passed around the crowd as they heard the story of a lady who had to take her prosthetic out to board a plane and put her boob in a box.

Despite all the hardship and difficulties women encounter with their breasts, Lawman ended the night by reminding her audience “boobs are funny”, which was followed by some hilarious anecdotes where women’s boobs have got them into some pretty funny situations.

Due to the success of Juglife a second date has been added for October 3, with tickets available now.

A percentage of the proceeds will go to the Brookvale breastfeeding counselling drop-in service (B.A.B.I.E.S - Babies and Breastfeeding; Information, Encouragement, Support.)
