A BASINGSTOKE born TV presenter aims to put the fun back into learning.

Katie Knapman, who is known for appearing on BBC’s Tomorrow’s World has drawn on her television and academic experience, to compile a collection of engaging puzzles and brainteasers to held children with their revision.

The book Revision Fun for Clever Kids provides a break from the sometimes-repetitive task of revision, taking the pressure off children, but keeping their brains switched on. It contains a challenging collection of maths, English and general knowledge tests cunningly disguised as fun puzzles and tempting brain teasers for children aged eight to 11.

Katie said: “Even children as young as eight can find school exams and tests overwhelming. Their parents, who are busier than ever and keen for their children to succeed, can struggle to keep things in perspective and forget the importance of fun and relaxation.

“When my own children were nearing the end of primary school and preparing for tests, I would often devise puzzles, crosswords and quizzes for them which they loved and gave them a break from school work.”
