AROUND 3,000 people enjoyed fun in the sun at this year’s Sherfield Village Fete.
With a Wild West theme this year, families and stall holders got into the spirits of proceedings on Saturday.
Guests were invited to take a walk down main street and look at the different stalls, listen to country music and even try the rodeo bull.
In the main arena the Santa Fe Gunfighters re-enactment team, showcased some action in their Western Town, re-enacting classic gun fights from the 1860s, just after the Civil War.
The event also featured Ray Prior’s falconry display and a line dancing display from the U3A Old Basing group.
Site co-ordinator, Natalie Larner said: “We want to say a huge thank you to everyone on the fete committee who made this our biggest year yet.
“Everyone seemed to be really happy and the whether was kind to us. People really seemed to get involved with the Wild West Theme which I think appealed to a lot of families making for a great day out for everyone.”
Alongside the popular Fete BBQ and Tea Tent this year there was a range of hot food choices, fresh salads, ice cream vans and a vast selection of baked goods from Bramley Village Bakery.
Money from this year’s fete will be donated to the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust, as well as helping to maintain the village hall, parish church, and other local causes.
