AROUND 150 people attended a charity fund raising event at an award-winning nursery.
Hardy's Cottage Garden Plants, based in Whitchurch, held the open day on Sunday, 3 June, to help the green-fingered before the summer season.
They managed to raise about £1,000 for Naomi House and Jacksplace, a children's hospice with places all over the country.
This comes after Hardy's was given their 23rd medal at this year's Chelsea Flower Show. There, and at the open day, they showed off a brand new breed of flower, which was bred by one of the owners, Rosy Hardy.
She also gave talks and demonstrations of how to care for plants, and they raised money through plant and refreshment sales.
