BASINGSTOKE'S skies became technicoloured last weekend as the annual Kite Festival returned.

The popular event saw dragons, phoenixes, snakes and even a Love Basingstoke logo floating through the air.

Held at the Down Grange Sports Complex and organised by the Loddon Valley Kite Flyers, visitors enjoyed glorious weather across the weekend as they watched impressive arena displays by a host of guest kite flyers from across the UK and further afield including Germany and France.

Demonstrations were carried out by the likes of Bruno Cocandeau, Carl Robertshaw, David Ellison and Flying fish.

There was plenty to keep families entertained including kite flying demonstrations, children’s kite making workshops, trade and catering stalls, inflatables and a kite raffle.
