RESIDENTS are being given the chance to find out more about major developments planned in the coming years in the south west of Basingstoke.

Basingstoke South West Action Group (SWAG) is holding a public meeting on Thursday to give residents of Hatch Warren, Beggarwood, Kempshott, North Waltham, Cliddesden and Dummer the chance to quiz local planners on major developments that will hit the area in the next few years.

The meeting will also bring residents up-to-date on the possible new motorway service area between Hatch Warren and Cliddesden.

Local councillors, senior county transport planners, the clinical director of the North Hampshire Clinical Commissioning Group and a representative of the major developers for several of the sites will form a panel to answer residents’ questions and concerns.

SWAG Chairman Heather Rainbow said: “We have worked hard to get all the right people to answer residents’ questions on how the south west of Basingstoke is going to cope with an increase of 60 per cent in population. We encourage residents to come along early.”

The meeting is scheduled for 7pm on Thursday in Hatch Warren Community Centre, in Long Cross Lane.
