A CARE home in Tadley has been given the all-clear following an inspection from the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

The healthcare watchdog graded Dimensions 21 Searing Way in Tadley as ‘good’ in a report after an unannounced inspection.

The care home provides accommodation to a maximum of five people who have a learning disability, autism and/or associated health needs.

After the inspection which took place on February 27, the care home was given ‘good’ in all five areas the CQC looks at, including effectiveness and how caring the service is.

This continues the good track record, as the home was awarded ‘good’ in its last inspection.

Staff were praised in the report, with one relative saying that they thought staff were ‘very caring’. In the report it read: “Staff knew the people they cared for well and people were relaxed in their company. Staff did not rush people with their care.

“Staff were sensitive to people’s moods and intervened to ensure people received the emotional support they required.

“Staff treated people with kindness and compassion, they cared about people. Staff supported people to make choices about their lives. Staff treated people with respect and upheld their dignity and human rights when delivering their care.”

There was also a mention that some of the staff and people who lived there used Makaton, a signing system.

The registered manager, Albert Tafadzwa Chisvetoh, was also praised, having recently joined.

The report continued: “The registered manager had a clear vision to deliver personal and individual care in the home. There was a positive culture within the staff team in order to achieve good outcomes for people.

“Staff told us they enjoyed working at the service and felt well supported. Staff told us the registered manager operated an ‘Open door’ policy, which enabled them to raise any issues or concerns they may have.”

Dimensions UK, the company that runs 21 Searing Way, did not wish to comment.
