NOMINATIONS are flooding in for an new awards scheme set up to celebrate education in the Basingstoke and Deane area.
Last month, the Basingstoke Gazette Education Awards was officially launched, to celebrate and recognise those who play a part in learning across the area.
So far, more than 50 nominations for the awards have been made relating to an array of schools in the borough.
Merv Rees, a full-time consultant surgeon and medical director clinical development at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, will be the guest speaker at the event which takes place at The Apollo Hotel on July 13.
Nominations for the awards can be made up until June 1.
