A TASTE of Spain came to a secondary school over the past week.

On both Friday and Monday, Everest Community Academy pupils welcomed a group of 33 Year 8 and 9 students from Madrid.

The Spanish students attended lessons to gain an insight in to the British education system and were able to experience what being a student at Everest is really like, making comparisons with their own school.

They were involved in a wide variety of subjects including some that are not offered at their school in Spain such as food technology and the arts.

They also had the opportunity to mix and converse at breaks with all year groups which gave Everest pupils the chance to practise their Spanish skills whilst finding out for themselves differences between the two cultures.

The Spanish staff were also able to observe lessons including those outside their subject area of languages as Everest staff welcomed them into their classrooms.
