VISITORS to a society’s show were on the right track to finding out more about the world of model railways.

Basingstoke and North Hants Model Railway Society held a show at Aldworth School, in Western Way, on Saturday and Sunday with 20 layouts on display plus special interest groups and traders.

This included one of Hornby magazine’s own exhibition layouts called Twelve Trees Junction.

To help on the day, Scouts aided in the car park while there was also a shuttle service to and from Basingstoke railway station provided by the Aldershot and District Bus Preservation Society.

The model railway society is holding an open day on April 14 at the old Scout hut, in Stratton Park, off Pack Lane. For more information, go basingstokemrs.org.
