HE'S behind you! Chris Pizzey that is, who is set to return to the Anvil for this year’s pantomime.

Best known as Mr Stephen in The Basil Brush Show, Pizzey is the second star named who is set to appear at Basingstoke’s premier theatre this coming winter season.

This year, the Anvil will be home to Snow White and her seven dwarfs, with the team behind The Gazette-sponsored production already announcing their leading lady as star of CBBC’s Tracy Beaker, Dani Harmer.

Pizzey is set to take on the role of Muddles, Snow White’s best friend, but it will be double duty for the CBBC star, who will also be directing this year’s production.

This will not be Pizzey’s first visit to the Anvil, having starred as Simple Simon in 2015’s Jack and the Beanstalk, which he also directed.

Having trained at the Rose Bruford College in acting, Pizzey has made a name for himself mainly on children’s TV. Not just in The Basil Brush Show, but the Sarah Jane Adventures and playing Gerald Smedley in the Sooty Show.

It isn’t just on the screen where Pizzey has shone, having appeared on stage in productions of Wind in the Willows, Up on The Roof and the live tour of Basil Brush.

He is also no stranger to the world of pantomimes, having been a part of the Christmas tradition for the last 20 years, from playing Dick in Dick Whittington, to Buttons in Cinderella, Pizzey has seen it all.
