RESIDENTS in Kempshott are being advised that the by-election for the area will still go ahead tomorrow (Thursday, 1 March), despite predictions of snowfall on the day.
With much of Hampshire still feeling the effects of the ‘Beast from the East’, Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council officers have said the election will still take place.
Temperatures across the town are forecast to drop to -3C tomorrow, with the Met Office issuing an amber warning for much of the county.
Hampshire's emergency planning officer warned of potential major disruption if the forecast 10 centimetres of snow lands on the county on Thursday.
Polls will be open from 7am to 10pm for those people registered to vote to have their say in the Kempshott by-election.
Results will be declared at around lunchtime on Friday, 2 March on the council’s website at basingstoke.gov.uk/kempshott-by-election.
