A SECOND arrest has been made in connection with an ongoing murder investigation in South Ham.
A 37-year-old man from Basingstoke has been arrested on suspicion of murder, following the discovery of 41-year-old Jason Williams body in South Ham.
Earlier today (Wednesday, 21 January) police arrested a 34-year-old man, also from Basingstoke, on suspicion of murder as well.
Police launched a murder investigation yesterday (Tuesday, 20 February) following the discovery of 41-year-old Mr Williams’ body in Russell Howard Park.
A post-mortem examination confirmed that the 41-year-old, of St Peter’s Road, South Ham, was killed by a single stab wound to the chest.
Officers had cordoned off the field behind Limington House School, with police going door-to-door to help with their investigation.
This morning (Wednesday, 21 February) officers had cordoned off a property in St Peter’s Road.
Officers will remain in the South Ham area today while enquiries continue.
