FURTHER disruption is expected on a major Basingstoke road, as more improvements are set to be agreed.
A decision is set to be made by Hampshire County Council’s (HCC) executive member for environment and transport Councillor Rob Humby on whether to approve plans for more work to be carried out on the A33 at the Thornhill Way Junction, Chineham.
The project will see the number of approach lanes increased from two to three, as well as road resurfacing and replacing the traffic lights, all in a bid to alleviate congestion issues..
If approved, the project is estimated to cost £1.35million, to be funded from the Enterprise M3 LEP’s Local Growth Fund, developer contributions, and HCC A decision is set to be made on the scheme by Cllr Humby on January 16.
Improvement work to the A33 is currently ongoing between the Crockford and Ring Road roundabouts.
