A MAN sustained injuries to the face after being attacked in the car park of the Apollo Hotel.

Police were called to a report of an altercation in the car park of the hotel, in Popley Way, at 11.55pm on Friday, 20 October.

The victim, a 27-year-old man, was staying at the hotel when he was attacked and sustained a black eye and a cut lip, having been assaulted by people he did not know.

He was taken to Basingstoke hospital for treatment and was later discharged.

Officers have launched an investigation and would like to speak to a man in connection with this incident.

The man police would like to talk to is describe as white, in his late 30s, of large build, around 6ft 1in tall, having facial hair, speaking with an English accent and wearing black jeans and a white shirt.

PC Rachael Pell said: “This appears to have been an unprovoked attack involving people the victim did not know.

“We know that the hotel was busy that night with lots of guests. The hotel car park is also visible to motorists driving on the Aldermaston Roundabout and Popley Way.

“We would like anyone who saw what happened, or has any information, to call us as soon as possible.”
