THIEVES broke into a static caravan in Chineham, stealing £50,000 worth of items.

Police are appealing for information following the incident which took place between 12.30pm and 2pm on Sunday, 17 September in Crockford Lane.

Offenders broke into the property taking items including a gold, diamond-encrusted Rolex watch, a wrist bangle in the shape of a spanner with diamonds at the open end of the spanner shape, and a gold jewellery box with a horse design encrusted with diamonds.

It is also believed they took a large sum of cash from the property as well.

Reports indicate that the 61-year-old victim was not at home when the burglary took place.

PC David Mills, of the Northern Investigation Team, said: “We would like to hear from anyone who has any information about what happened.

“Do you remember being in the Crockford Lane area on this day? Did you see anything suspicious?

“Several of the items stolen have great sentimental value for the victim. Have you been offered any items of jewellery for sale recently? Do you recognise some of the items listed above? If so, please get in touch.”

Anyone with any information are asked to contact the police on 101, quoting 44170360461 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where information can be left anonymously.
