A BRAVE Chalk Ridge Primary School pupil has had her hair cut for the Little Princess Trust, helping provide wigs for children who have lost their hair.

Sophia Payne, nine, wanted to get her plait cut off to help give other children a smile and braved the haircut on Saturday, 14 October.

The haircut was done by her mother, Zoe Mclauchlan, who is a hairdresser at The Green Room Hair Studio, in Winchester Road.

Zoe said: “As her mum I’m obviously extremely proud of her, it’s a kind thing for anyone to do but especially a child.

“I did get a bit emotional cutting her lovely long plait off but could not be prouder, the Little Princess Trust is such an amazing charity.”

Sophia has raised £677 for the charity and marked the occasion by getting a new pink hair style.

Her hair will be used to make wigs for children who have lost their own hair due to cancer treatment and other illnesses.
