YOUNGSTERS showcasing their talents had the opportunity to strut their stuff in front of a very special judge.

On Friday, 8 September Playdays Indoor Playcentre, in Stewart Road hosted its very own talent show, which came under tough scrutiny from former Britain’s Got talent finalist Steve Hewlett.

Ahead of the judging the ventriloquist gave those in attendance a show of his own, introducing the audience to Arthur Lager and Simon Cowell – in puppet form.

All children participating were awarded a trophy to celebrate their achievements of performing in front of a full house and with mayor and mayoress of Basingstoke and Deane councillor Paul Frankum and councillor Jane Frankum in attendance.

After all the acts, Steve along with the other judges crowned Fenton Crome, 10 , with his Michael Jackson dance routine as the winner. Second place went to Eleanor Stonehouse, 10, singing Titanium by David Guetta and bronze went to Ashton Ingram, 8, with comedy impressions.

Playdays manager Jade McCarthy said: “I am happy with how well the event went especially as it was raising funds for such a good cause and was thankfully that Steve could be a part of the first Talent show. “

The event managed to raise more than £400 local children's charity Sebastian's Action Trust, with plans already in the works for Playdays Got Talent 2018.
