TRAMPOLINES, climbing walls and a laser maze will form parts of a new £2million activity park in the heart of Basingstoke.

Flip Out, the world’s fastest growing trampoline park operator, will take up residency at a vacant site which is part of Festival Place, in Churchill Way.

The site was formerly the home of nightclub’s Stage, Liquid and Wonderland, but is now set to open its doors later this year as a family friendly activity centre.

The 25,000 sq ft leisure attraction will create 60 new jobs for the area, will include seven climbing walls, two 25ft high super slides battle beams, a laser maze, a huge foam pit and a full-sized padded Lamborghini to leap and climb upon.

Jon Inwards, CEO of Flip Out UK, said: “It’s exciting to be able to announce that work has now begun and Flip Out Basingstoke will be opening within months.

“We’ve found the perfect location for our venue which will blend the fun of a traditional trampoline park with the excitement of an adventure and activity centre.”

Mr Inwards added: “Flip Out Basingstoke will appeal to all the family, offering three themed party rooms, a soft-play area for younger children, along with a diner selling hot and cold food and refreshments.

“We’re also planning to bring some UK firsts for a trampoline park, with more news coming soon.”

The site became vacant since music venue STAGE closed in 2016 after the company running it went into liquidation.

As previously reported in The Gazette, Stage Live Limited, which ran STAGE, closed the venue just six months after it opened.

This new Basingstoke centre will be Flip Outs 17th site to open across the UK, and is due to open later this year.
