RURAL residents across Hart are being warned about quad bike riding burglars.
An alert message has been sent out urging anyone who lives in a rural area hears quad bikes near or on their land to call 999 immediately, quoting Operation Rebate.
The message reports a number of burglary of non-dwellings - such as sheds and outhouses - in the region in recent weeks with quad bikes, gardening power tools and plant machinery being targeted.
In the alert, PC Vincent Lane, of Hampshire Constabulary's Country Watch team, said: "I am your local Countrywatch officer and I am investigating this series.
"I understand that a number of local residents have information regarding sightings of suspicious persons and vehicles. I am also aware that some residents of Hart have started WhatsApp groups where such intelligence is exchanged between yourselves. Sadly this is seldom passed to police.
"Can I ask that if you see or hear something suspicious, or if you otherwise have some information that you think will assist, that you call this in on 101 or 999 as appropriate in an emergency. Your information may be the vital missing piece of the puzzle."
