Hampshire Constabulary has issued advice on how to prevent vehicle crime, saying that most vehicle related-crimes can be prevented by taking simple security measures.

Car owners are being advised to always lock their cars and make sure windows and sunroofs are closed, fit car alarms and use an immobiliser or a steering wheel lock.

The police added never to leave valuable possessions on show inside vehicles, make sure marks left by suction from sat-navs are wiped away and don’t leave items in the glove compartment.
