A COUNTRY pub and bed and breakfast has competed in the reality television show, Four In a Bed.

Four In a Bed is a Channel 4 programme in which four B&B owners each host one another for a night each, competing against each other to see who has the best B&B The Poacher Inn in South Warnborough, which has a large sit down bar serving a variety of craft beers and wines, has recently competed against three other businesses in the hit Channel 4 programme.

The owner of The Poacher Inn, Nadia Schicchi, competed against, among others, ex-professional footballer, Jim McCalliog, who owns the Langside Bed and Breakfast in Fenwick, Ayrshire, in the bid to be declared the best establishment.

Nadia said:”It was a great experience to take part in the show and I really enjoyed my experience.

“I feel I have taken away valuable feedback from the other contestants which will be sure to help me in the future with my long term goal - to own five B&Bs in the next ten years.”

The B&B and Nadia received very positive feedback from the other contestants about the atmosphere and her overall pub environment.

When Nadia hosted her competitors for the evening, she put on a show of her jujitsu class as the entertainment for the evening, followed by a night in her ‘home-fromhome’ pub.

Nadia added: “I came joint second which I am really pleased with and would like to thank Channel 4 for giving me the opportunity.”

The episode first aired on June 26 and was episode 96 of the programme which is now in its 11th season.

The Poacher Inn is newly refurbished and reopened after it became under new management in June 2016 giving its historic character a modern twist.

It says it is famous for the its local produce and chef’s specials which include rabbit stew, pigeon pate, squirrel pie, venison burgers and wild boar sausages - all of which are locally sourced and produced.

Nadia and the head chef Simon Temple say they share a passion for fresh and local products.

The restaurant serves homegrown produce from its very own vegetable garden.
