A TEEN was threatened with a knife and headbutted in a town centre park in broad daylight.

The 13-year-old boy was walking with a friend in Eastrop Park, Basingstoke, at around 2.35pm on Saturday, 15 July, when he was approached by two other boys.

One of the boys threatened the 13-year-old with a knife, while the other one tried to take his phone.

When the victim refused to hand over his phone, the second boy headbutted him, causing a bloody nose.

Now, police are appealing for witnesses to come forward and have issued descriptions of the two suspects.

The first is described as around 13-years-old, of mixed race, skinny build with black hair in an afro style. He was around 5ft 2ins tall and was wearing a black tracksuit top and bottoms with a white stripe going down the arms and legs.

The second boy is described as around 15-years-old, white with light coloured hair, of stocky build and was around 5ft 5ins tall. He was wearing a light grey tracksuit and had spots on his face.

Detective constable Dan Hunt said: “This took place on the cycle path that runs adjacent to both Eastrop Lane and Old Canal Place.

“The park would have been busy at the time, so we want to speak to anyone who has any information about this incident.

“Did you see what happened? Do you remember seeing the two boys as described above? Any information you might hold could prove vital to this investigation, so please get in touch.”
