A NUMBER of farmyard animals died in a fire in Odiham on Monday morning.
Firefighters from stations in Hartley Wintney, Fleet and across the border in Surrey were called to a fire in a range of outbuildings, which were being used for storage and stables, in Farnham Road at 11.10am.
The outbuildings were completely destroyed in the fire, with eight animals - five pigs, two sheep and one goat - declared dead at the scene as a result of injuries caused by the blaze.
More animals were treated at the scene for injuries caused by the fire by an animal rescue adviser from the fire service and a vet based nearby.
Firefighters used four hose reels to extinguish the blaze and were on scene for around three hours.
