A DRIVER escaped with only minor injuries after two wooden beams smashed through his windscreen in a car accident just outside Basingstoke on Sunday.
Paramedics were sent to the scene of the crash on the B3046 at Preston Candover at 3.25pm, after being alerted to the accident by a passer-by.
It was reported to South Central Ambulance Service that the driver was trapped by the two beams which had gone through the windscreen, though on arrival, paramedics saw the wooden beams had lodged either side of the driver, causing him facial injuries.
His injuries were described as 'minor' by South Central Ambulance Service and after receiving initial treatment and assessment at the scene, he was taken to the Royal Hampshire County Hospital, in Winchester, for further treatment.
