A FORT Hill Community School student has followed in his brother’s footsteps by cutting off his long locks for charity.

Two years ago Nathaniel Woodbridge’s brother Connaire, 18, shaved his hair for two different charities to raise more than £200.

Inspired by his older brother, 15-year-old Nathaniel wanted to grow his hair longer and raise more than his brother for his two chosen charities – Muffins Dream Foundation and Sebastian’s Action Trust.

The Fort Hill student decided to support Muffins Dream as they have helped his youngest brother, Benjamin, 8, who has Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) by enabling him to go horse riding, canoeing, take part in gymnastics at the Active Life centre, sensory play days at Swings and Smiles in Newbury and so much more.

The charity has given Benjamin a sense of freedom despite his disability.

On June 20, a crowd of students and staff gathered at the Kenilworth Road school to see Nathaniel have his locks chopped off.

So far the 15-year-old has managed to raise £320, so outdoing his older brother.

As well as the money going to Muffins Dream, Nathaniel is donating the money to Sebastian’s Actions Trust, which helps seriously ill children and supports their families, giving advice, guidance and counselling to help with their issues.

This is because a close family friend of the Woodbridge family, Isaac Halls has Global Developmental Delay and goes to Limington House school.

The trust has really helped to support the Halls family. As well as being a close family friend, Connaire is one of Isaac’s carers.

They go to Bluebells which is one of the charity’s houses in North Warnborough, where they use the indoor pool, garden and sensory room they have there.

After having his hair put into plaits and shaved by his girlfriend’s mum Carey Stovold, he decided to donate his hair to the Little Princess Trust, which make real hair wigs for children who have been diagnosed with cancer and are undergoing treatment.
