A BASINGSTOKE charity has been given a van to help with its work.

Muffin’s Dream Foundation was donated the custom-built vehicle by the Basingstoke branch of Rosemount Financial Solutions, which has been fundraising to help support the charity throughout the year.

This fundraising culminated with the handing over of the keys at a Charity Summer Ball on Friday, June 16, at Dummer Golf Club.

The ball raised an impressive £9,503 for the charity which has been supported by Rosemount for the past three years.

The evening included a raffle and a charity auction, which featured items including signed merchandise from Chelsea Football Club, Manchester United and the England rugby team.

Jacquie Chart, managing director at Rosemount Financial Solutions, based in Cheqeurs Road, said: “It was quite special to hand over the keys to the van. We have been supporting them since the start of 2015 and it is important to us to support local charities.

“We can see where the money is going in the community and that is very rewarding. We are really proud to support this charity and really enjoy seeing how the money they raise changes the lives of money of many young people.

“Next year, we are hoping to raise enough money to be able to get them a minibus.”

Muffin’s Dream Foundation, based at The Orchard, in White Hart Lane, was founded in 2012 and helps families who have a child or young adult with a disability or illness.

Its aim is to make sure disabled young people can access a wide range of support services, both in the community and in the hospital environment, as well as supporting their family members and close friends.

The foundation also organises workshops, which allow children and young people to do activities that they might not normally be able to do.
