A MAN sustained serious head injuries after falling nearly 30ft from the roof of a building at an industrial estate.
The 40-year-old fell from the Marlborough Trading Mews building roof, in Crockford Lane, at around 1.40pm today.
He is believed to have been working on the roof of the unit which houses the Lok’nStore self-storage unit.
South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) sent two ambulances and the air ambulance to the scene.
A spokesman said: “The patient had sustained serious head, chest, leg and arminjuries and after initial treatment at the scene he was flown to the major trauma centre atUniversity Hospital Southampton.”
An eye witness, who did not wish to be named said: “I had seen people doing work on the roof for the past couple of days and didn’t really think anything of it.
“But it did dawn on me that a few of the guys up there looked like they weren’t wearing harnesses.”
