A VAN driver has been rushed to Basingstoke hospital with serious injuries after becoming trapped following a collision on the A339.
The male driver, in his 40s, was involved in the collision between a car and his vehicle, which saw the van roll on to its side.
Police were called to the incident in Avenue Road, Herriard, at 7.39am with Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service, the air ambulance and South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) were also called to the scene.A spokesperson for SCAS said: “We sent two ambulances, a rapid response car and the air ambulance to the scene.
“The two patients in the car were treated at the scene for minor injuries; the van driver was taken to the Basingstoke hospital by road with serious leg injuries, and minor arm and head injuries.”
The south bound carriageway of the A339 between Lasham and Herriard remains closed with a diversion in place, but the north bound carriageway is now re-opened.
