MORE than £1,000 has been raised by a Whitchurch resident who completed a trek in Scotland for charity.
Andrew Smith, 60, from Whitchurch, undertook the journey last month, with the aim of raising as much money for the AMAR Foundation as possible. He has raised a total of £1,270, meaning that he has smashed his target of £900.
Mr Smith said: “Unfortunately due to the nature of the terrain and a calf strain, I was unable to reach Lochinver in the available time, and had to end the walk at Drumrunie on the road north from Ullapool.”
The ambitious route marked the second fundraising journey that he has done in aid of AMAR.
