BASINGSTOKE’S local foodbank recently received a visit from two notable guests as the mayor and deputy mayor of Basingstoke and Deane, Cllr Jane Frankum and Cllr Paul Frankum joined them for a tour.

The mayor saw the work that the foodbank does, including what the volunteers, who collect and distribute the food for those in need around the Basingstoke area. Nearly 100 tonnes of food has been given out by the Foodbank over five years, feeding nearly 10,000 people in the area.

The mayor said: “The Foodbank does an amazing job in reaching out to those in need in our town. It was eye-opening to see the Foodbank in action."
