MEMBERS from the Lordsfield Swimming Club took part in a national Swimathon in aid of Marie Curie, raising hundreds of pounds for the charity.
On April 8, five members from Overton took part in the national event to raise money for the charity that helps those with a terminal illness, providing support for those who need it.
Chair of Lordsfield Swimming Club, Lauren McCann took part, swimming 2.5km (100 lengths) of the pool and raised £160.
She was joined by fellow club members, Amy Mosdell and her children, Evie, seven, and Harry, five, who were also joined with another club member Lilli Miller, seven. They swam 5km between them and raised £200, bringing the grand total of the event to £360.
This year’s Swimathon was the 30th anniversary of the event, and the group received medals. Lauren said: “It was fantastic to see so many people taking part.”
